Area Agency on Aging makes donation to Sheriff’s Office

On February 2nd 2022 Carol Baker and Jim Endly from the Cambridge Area Agency on Aging thoughtfully donated several items to the Sheriff’s Office. These items will help citizens that deputies come in contact with to combat the cold weather. Items included in the donation were Beanies, Gloves, Socks and Blankets. Sheriff Paden said “We are very grateful when anyone is able to make a donation that can have a positive impact on a citizen in need.”

The Area Agency on Aging gave the Sheriff the following letter:

This gift is given to you compliments of the Area Agency on Aging Region 9 Foundation. The AAA9 Foundation is a is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. No contribution is required. We only ask that you tell your friends and family about the AAA9 Foundation and encourage t1em to make a tax-deductible contribution if they are able.

The AAA9 Foundation has three main funding priorities:

  • Victims of Crime and exploitation: We provide referrals to legal resources and guidance organizations and depending on circumstances, minimal financial assistance.
  • Victims of Natural Disasters: Guidance and assistance, referrals, as well as financial assistance to purchase emergency provisions and temporary shelter.
  • Those who do not qualify under regular standards: Meet the basic emergency needs of individuals who have exhausted all other assistance avenues or fall through the “cracks” and are not eligible for government programs.

Our Foundation Mission is “To promote, encourage, and raise funds in support of programs and services designed to help all older adults continue to five independently and safely at home; and in support of the Area Agency on Aging Region 9, Inc.”

Please consider the AAA9 Foundation when you are planning your nonprofit giving in 2022. Your contribution will allow us to assist others who are in need. In 2021 & 2022, the AAA9 Foundation purchased and distributed cleaning supplies and PPE to help keep seniors safe from covid-19. We purchased box fans to help keep older adults cool in the summer and, we purchased blankets, gloves, socks, and hats to help keep them warm in the winter. In the future, we hope to provide community grants and scholarships to local students seeking a career in health care or social work fields.

We also have an Amazon Smiles account. Sign into your regular Amazon account, in the search bar at the top type in Amazon Smiles. This will bring up the landing page for the Amazon Smiles Program. There you can put in the name of our foundation and when you purchase eligible items from Amazon, a donation will go to our Foundation. You may also donate on our website at https://aaa9.org/aaa9-foundation/ or mail a check to 710 Wheeling Avenue, Cambridge, Ohio 43725.
