Kimbolton Male Arrested After Stabbing Incident

Sheriff Jeffrey D. Paden announced today that Branden McFarlene Smith, age 32 of Kimbolton is currently being held in the Guernsey County Jail on a Parole Violation hold after he was arrested by deputies following a reported stabbing incident. Sheriff Paden said that shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Monday night December 16, 2024 deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call from a 58-year-old male reporting that another resident had stabbed him multiple times at his Sugartree Rd. home in Kimbolton.

Responding deputies entered the home and found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds to his upper body. The victim was able to provide the identity of the assailant to deputies and he was located outside of the home a short time later and taken into custody. Antrim EMS personnel treated the male at the scene and then transported him to Ohiohealth Southeastern Ohio Medical Center for further treatment.

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division were contacted and responded to the scene, where they processed the scene and collected evidence.

McFarlene is expected to be charged with felonies resulting from the incident later in the week and this case remains under investigation.
