Two Cambridge Men arrested following search warrant

On September 21st 2021, Detectives from both the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office and the Noble County Sheriff’s Office began a joint investigation into the theft of a firearm from the Noble County area. Investigators learned that the gun had been stolen from Noble County and had been traded for cash and narcotics in Cambridge, Ohio. Upon further investigation, it was also learned that due to past felony convictions, the individuals who had taken possession of the gun, are not legally able to possess firearms.

On the early morning hours of September 22nd 2021, a search warrant was executed on a Gomber Ave. home in Cambridge. The search warrant was executed by The Guernsey County Special Response Team as well as investigators from both Guernsey and Noble County Sheriff’s Offices. During the search, investigators located the stolen firearm as well as suspected narcotics. These items were seized as evidence and the suspected narcotics will be sent to BCI for further testing.

Robert Hutchison, age 25 of Cambridge and Derrick King age 33 also of Cambridge were arrested and charged with having Weapons While under Disability, A felony of the third degree. Further charges are expected to be presented to the Guernsey County Grand Jury pending lab results from BCI. Investigators are aware of other suspects involved in this case and are following up on leads.
