Chicago Man Arrested Following Drug Bust by Sheriff’s Office/CODE Taskforce

Sheriff Jeffrey Paden announced that detectives from his Investigations Division and Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force (CODE) seized a large amount of narcotics following the execution of a search warrant on Wednesday night, April 3, 2024, at a Cambridge hotel. The investigation began approx. three weeks ago after detectives received information that a very large amount of various drugs, including crack cocaine and fentanyl were being distributed in Guernsey County by a Chicago man.

Kenneth D. Triplett, age 37 of Chicago, Illinois was arrested in the parking lot area of the hotel by detectives while the Guernsey County Special Response Team (SRT) was en route to the scene to execute the search warrant. Triplet was transported to the county jail and held at that time on a nationwide arrest warrant issued out of Minnesota. Following the execution of the search warrant, investigators recovered over approximately 350 grams of suspected crack cocaine, and fentanyl inside the hotel room.

Triplett has been charged with Trafficking in Cocaine, a felony of the first degree, with a major drug offender specification, Possession of Cocaine, a felony of the first degree, with a major drug offender specification, Trafficking in Fentanyl-Related Compound, a felony of the first degree and Possession of Fentanyl-Related Compound also a felony of the first degree.

Sheriff Paden said this is the second significant amount of narcotics seized by his office in the past week. He also added “Let this be a warning, it doesn’t matter if you are local or if you come from larger cities or other states. If you plan on renting a hotel room and selling drugs in our community, my team is going to relentlessly hunt you down and put you in my hotel!”
