Several Drug Charges Against Cambridge Man

           

 

          Sheriff Jeffrey D. Paden announces that on Friday October 13th, 2023 formal charges have been filed against 34 year-old Jaryd Lee McClay of Cambridge, OH. Detectives within the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division and Agents with Homeland Security Investigations had been investigating McClay for approximately 2 months and obtained evidence that McClay was distributing narcotics in a school zone. On October 11th, 2023 McClay was involved in a traffic stop by Guernsey County Deputies that resulted in seizing a bulk amount of narcotics and a loaded firearm. In total Detectives seized approximately 75 grams of methamphetamine, 6 grams of fentanyl, and 2 loaded firearms from a culmination of multiple search warrants and a traffic stop.

            McClay’s charges are as follows:

  • Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs- Felony 1
  • 2 counts of Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs – Felony 2
  • Trafficking in a Fentanyl-Related Compound –Felony 3
  • Having Weapons While Under Disability – Felony 3
  • Aggravated Possession of Drugs – Felony 5

Sheriff Jeffrey D. Paden states that his Detectives are committed and devoted to eradicating drug dealers in Guernsey County. Sheriff Paden added that he is very appreciative of the tips from the community and wants to ensure his office will continue to follow up on them.
