Sheriff Jeffrey D. Paden has announced that Zackary K. Smith, age 35 of Fairview, has been charged with two counts of Abduction a felony of the third degree and one count of Gross Sexual Imposition a felony of the fourth degree. The Investigations Division learned about an incident that took place during the evening hours on October 24th. Zackary Smith was arrested at a residence in Fairview after Detectives executed a search warrant during the early morning hours of October 25th. Detectives located multiple items of evidentiary value and have conducted several interviews. Detectives are continuing to exhaust every investigative resource to collect all the facts concerning this case.
Smith remains incarcerated in the Guernsey County Jail at this time awaiting a bond hearing. The collaborative efforts by Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office Detectives, Cambridge Police Department, and the Haven of Hope have aided in the safety.
