Sheriff’s Office and School Administration Investigate Serious Complaint

The Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office along with the Administration of The Rolling Hills Local Schools investigated a serious complaint that we received in the evening hours of April 24, 2021. Our oath to our community moved this investigation to the highest priority and personnel were called in to the Office to begin investigating that night. After a detailed investigation, it was found that the threat of violence through a list of names did NOT exist. This complaint was based off of third party rumor information and was verified as FALSE by law enforcement. It has also been brought to the attention of the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office and Administration of The Rolling Hills Local Schools that a stabbing occurred at the Meadowbrook Middle School. Once again this is FALSE as the complaint was investigated by Law Enforcement. And finally, there was a complaint that a significant amount of illegal narcotics was located at the Meadowbrook Middle School. This is also FALSE after being investigated by Law Enforcement. Sheriff Jeffrey D. Paden stated that “The safety of students and staff is the number one priority of our agencies and that he used every resource at his disposal to quickly bring these rumors to a resolution”. Sheriff Jeffrey D. Paden went on to state “that he has a very close and great working relationship with the Rolling Hills School District and it is through these relationships that he can quickly resolve issues such as these.”
