On January 17, 2024, Jaryd Lee McClay age 34 of Cambridge, OH was sentenced in the Guernsey County Common Pleas Court by the Honorable Judge Daniel Padden. The sentencing stems from a narcotics investigation in 2023 conducted by the Investigations Division at the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from Homeland Security Investigations. McClay entered a guilty plea to one count of Trafficking in Drugs a 1st degree felony, two counts of Trafficking in Drugs both felonies of the 2nd degree, and one count of Weapons Under Disability a 3rd degree felony. McClay received a sentence of 10 years, 9 of which is mandatory plus an additional 18 months for violating his Post Release Control, for a total imprisonment of 11.5 years. The firearm and vehicle involved in these crimes have been forfeited to the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office.
